Rožmberk - the largest Czech pond

It is the largest Czech pond, and so is also called "South-Bohemian sea". His dam is 2430 m long and 10 m high and 55 m wide heel. Crown width is 11 m, covered with 150 to 400 years old oaks. The pond was originally an area of ​​about 1060 ha, flooded meadows at the edge of Trebon. But because fish thrive in rather shallow water, so it was decided to reduce the level.
